Popular in many countries, such as Germany, known as Jadgwurst, Italy, known as Cacciatore and Poland, known as Kielbasa Myśliwska. It is a type of lightly smoked and dried sausage commonly made with pork and beef. Named Hunter Sausage as it was often consumed by Polish hunters as the heavily smoked, semi-dried sausage made an ideal snack for a hunting trip. Juniper berries give this sausage its unique character and colour. Unlike most sausages, Hunter Sausage is baked after being smoked.
